Are You Feeling ‘Enchanted?’

April 30, 2009 · 2 Comments

In case you missed it, in last night’s presidential press conference, New York Times reporter Jeff Zeleny asked President Obama how the office has “enchanted” him.

To say nothing about the softness of the question, what kind of man on Earth asks another man if he’s feeling “enchanted?”

UPDATE: A guy like Zeleny, that’s who. He’s gay. I guess I take this back just a little, but the fact remains that a New York Times reporter asked the president if he felt enchanted…Good to see the watchdogs at work.

Obama answered, “That’s a fabulous question, Jeff. Let’s talk about it over a couple of appletinis.”

Okay, that’s not true, but still.

Really, New York Times?

    You crack me up.

Howard Kurtz seemed to think it garnered one of the most interesting responses of the night, peculiar question aside.

I was actually playing cards and didn’t hear either, though “enchanted” isn’t quite the word I would have used.

What an exchanting question to ask the president of the United States!

This is the softest of softballs…or should I say, “soft testicles”?

Edward R. Murrow must be spinning in his grave.

Then again, what did anyone expect from a NY Times reporter? There’s a reason why the Times is losing readers and subscribers by the dozens per minute.
